Mr. Joesph Kent, Principal

Mr. Kent was a classroom teacher for 16 years prior to being an administrator. In that timeframe, he served as a Kindergarten teacher for ten years, and also a 1st grade, and third-grade teacher. He has been the Principal at Nathan Hale since 2021 and the Heritage principal prior to that.  

Mr. Kent received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Langston University, Oklahoma and his master's degree from Northeastern Illinois. Chicago,  Ill.

Mrs. Angela Cuevas-Montemayor, Assisatnt Principal

Angela Cuevas-Montemayor brings over 21 years of experience in the education sector. Currently, she serves as the Assistant Principal at Nathan Hale Elementary School within Sunnybrook 171. Prior to her time at Sunnybrook, she spent more than 15 years teaching in East Chicago, IN. For the past six years, she has been part of the Sunnybrook community, spending five of those years as a social studies teacher at Heritage Middle School before moving into her current position. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Purdue University and her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of New England.
